EASTHAMPTON — A dwelling hearth on Sunday afternoon displaced two families and drew an emergency reaction from quite a few towns and towns, according to the Easthampton Hearth Department.

The induce of the fireplace at 10 Dartmouth St., noted just just after 4 p.m., is less than investigation by the state Fire Marshal’s workplace.

Initially responders explained smoke was pouring out of the top flooring of the three-tale household and all the occupants had gotten by themselves out safely.

Fire crews from Northampton, Southampton, Holyoke, South Hadley and the Barnes and Westover Air National Guard fire departments also responded, along with the Easthampton CERT group.

The American Red Cross is aiding the displaced people.
