For a Mediterranean revival residence developed in the 1900s, Rob Klein and Amy Kreutz of Conceptual Kitchens & Millwork have been tasked with dreaming up a brilliant-however-moody kitchen area. Tucked into the Meridian-Kessler community of Indianapolis, the house “has some historic advantage,” the designers say, but the “client wanted one thing edgy, so it was exciting to open up up selections for producing it all get the job done in a unifying way.”

Klein and Kreutz worked with Indiana-dependent interior designer Tiffany Skilling and general contractor Invoice Brosius of William Gordon Team to give the kitchen a important refresh. All renovations have been performed within the five-bedroom, five-toilet home’s original footprint. The biggest architectural alter? Removing a preexisting wall. “This allowed us to layout and space plan for all a few parts, building the kitchen larger and defining the measurement and shape of the new laundry/mudroom and functioning pantry,” the CK&M team clarifies.

An arch was included to bridge the area in between all 3 parts and generate a stunning backdrop when getting into the kitchen area. Black appliances and a big island were being non-negotiables for the customer, whose original love for the dark brown shade of the tailor made-built cabinetry by Premier turned the foundation for the room’s general color scheme. Brass accents pulled in by way of the cabinetry hardware, lights, and even a backsplash be certain each area feels classy. Now, the area flows a great deal superior and embodies the sophisticated-but-not-as well-formal appear the customer was following.
