Grammy, Emmy and Tony Award-winning songwriter and actress Cyndi Lauper has been announced as the headliner for Westport’s Levitt Pavilion’s annual gala. The “Girls Just Want to Have Fun” singer will be performing at the venue on Friday, Sept. 30.
Over her career, Lauper has broken sales records with songs “Time After Time” and “True Colors.” When the 16-time Grammy nominated artist isn’t recording songs that have come to define an era, Lauper is in front of the screen in project such as “The Goonies,” “Bones” and “Young Sheldon.”
Lauper also penned the Tony Award-winning musical “Kinky Boots” when she famously resided in Stamford for more than 30 years. In 2018, she sold the 3,885-square-foot estate for $804,625, which featured eclectic decor such as a ceiling with hand-painted stenciling and a nook in the kitchen featuring a train car bench.
This will be Lauper’s first public concert in Connecticut since her co-headlining performance with Boy George at Mohegan Sun Arena in 2016, according to setlist.fm.
Tickets to the gala and the concert are currently on sale for members of the Levitt Pavilion. A public on-sale will begin on Saturday, July 23 at 9 a.m. The 2022 Gala Cocktail Party will take place at Don Memo and Walrus Alley in Westport and will occur prior to the start of the concert. Gala sponsorships are also available.
